For those who don't know, this place hasn't belonged to the Rothschild family for almost 100 years. It's had several other occupants during the 1900s. Most recently the Maharishi foundation in the 1970s and a political party in the 1990s, before Simon Halabi bought it in 1999. Halabi had planned to turn it into a hotel, but the plans fell through 15 years ago. Nobody lives there now.

この歴史的な建物は、銀行家であるロスチャイルドの本拠地でした。
ゴルフ場を含む廃墟を探検していると、鎖を持った非常に神経質な警備員に出くわした！

ロスチャイルド家は、もともとフランクフルト出身のアシュケナージ系ユダヤ人の裕福な家系で、神聖ローマ帝国自由都市フランクフルトのヘッセン＝カッセルのドイツ地主の宮廷因子であったマイヤー・アムシェル・ロスチャイルドが1760年代に銀行業を創業したことで一躍有名になった。
1850年代に建てられたこの素晴らしい19世紀のゴシック様式の邸宅は、2005年に『バットマン ビギンズ』の撮影に使用された。開発計画の失敗により、現在は空き家となっている。
