1基900馬力のエンジンを、前後２基で1800馬力だそうです。
ミッションはDSGで、ベストなトルク配分で自動でシフトするようです。
今までのベストは、1200馬力仕様の時に出した、8.788 @ 170mph。
今回は1800馬力にアップデートしたので、自己ベスト更新を狙ったが、路面コンディションが異なるのか、左に行ってしまうようです（笑）
スタート地点で回転が落ちなかったりと、本調子ではなかったようにも見える。
パワーはあるので、セッティングを詰めて、8秒を切りたい変態マシンです（笑）
DOP Motorsport drove 1500 miles from Romania to Santa Pod Raceway for the VW Action show. They came to run their twin engined VW Lupo for the first time in the UK. It is powered by two highly tuned 2.0 TFSI engines from a Golf R, both running Golf R DSG DQ250 gearboxes, and each one providing power independently to a separate set of wheels !!!! My understanding is that gearshift is worked out automatically by the torque of the engines, (although this would need to be confirmed). Back in Romania with 1200bhp combined they run a PB of 8.788 @ 170mph on a concrete runway. The engines were now tuned to produce 900bhp each, with a combined power of 1800bhp. Trying to get the settings correct for the different surface at Santa Pod Raceway proved difficult, with the car pulling to the left on several runs. Because of this they gave the car in the other lane plenty of space on each run.
They managed to put in several 9 second passes, with a best of 9.22 @ 161mph, but never quite managed to break into the 8's. This car has so much potential, and I am sure we will see these times drop, and some amazing passes in the future.
