Bahraini Nissan GT-R Sets New Quarter Mile Record
http://www.carscoops.com/2016/11/bahraini-nissan-gt-r-sets-new-quarter.html
A Nissan GT-R built in Bahrain by Ekanno Racing has just set a new world record for the fastest quarter mile time ever recorded by Godzilla.
Back in January, the car set a record with a blistering 7.44 second pass and just a few days ago, managed to knock that time down to 7.168 seconds at 209 mph (336 km/h).
The car itself has been built by T1 Race Development and while continual engine developments make it difficult to pinpoint a horsepower rating, it is believed to be delivering over 2,200 hp to the wheels.
Not entirely satisfied with the vehicle's current pace, Ekanno says that it is working on making the car even faster. Yep, 7.1 seconds just isn't good enough.
As insane as it may sound, this GT-R could soon break into the 6-second barrier, a truly extraordinary feat if achieved.

Nissan GT-R Quarter Mile Record Falls Once Again With 2,500 HP Beast
http://www.carscoops.com/2016/11/nissan-gt-r-quarter-mile-record-falls.html
Just a few days after a new Nissan GT-R quarter mile world record was set by Ekanno Racing in Bahrain, former record holder AMS Performance has just reclaimed the title with its latest project car.
Owned by car collector and drag racing enthusiast Gidi Chambi, this GT-R has been dubbed the Alpha G and differs from other AMS GT-Rs as its massive aftermarket turbochargers now protrude out of the front bumper, rather than retaining their standard location in the engine bay.
This, and a host of other modifications, allow the car to pump out an insane 2,500 hp, enough to rocket it down the quarter mile in just 7.14 seconds at 212 mph (341 km/h), slightly ahead of the former record which stood at 7.16 seconds at 209 mph (336 km/h).
AMS Performance holds the accolades of building the world’s first 9-second GT-R, the first 8-second GT-R and the first 7-second GT-R. If history is anything to go by, this particular GT-R could soon crack the 6-second barrier, becoming the first to do so.
