Flyin' Miata has been the go-to name for V8 conversions for all generations of the Mazda MX5 Miata. Now, they've shown up with their newest build, a brand new 'ND' Miata with a 520 HP 6.2L LS engine, complete driveline upgrades to back it up, full suspension, bigger wheels, better tires, and thanks to the magic of CANBUS, everything works, from the automatic climate control, to the keyless go, to the bluetooth. It's a furiously fast and remarkably balanced package that absolutely blew us away.

Magnum 6-Speed Transmission
http://www.tremec.com/menu.php?m=104

The kingpin of TREMEC's high performance line-up, the T-56 Magnum double-overdrive 6-speed transmission takes the very best from TREMEC's current OEM technologies and pairs it with the most popular features of the TKO 5-speed.

Able to withstand a massive 700 lb-ft. of torque while providing unbelievably crisp shifts, no other manual transmission on the planet offers as much combined strength, versatility, and general ease-of-use as the T-56 Magnum.

Known in its original equipment form as the 'TR-6060', the Magnum is an aftermarket version of the same transmission found in many of today's most celebrated factory super cars – including the ZR1 Corvette and ACR Viper – giving you refinement where you want it and strength where it counts.

Flyin’ Miata’s LS3-Swapped ND Is Just As Exciting As It Sounds
http://www.carscoops.com/2016/11/flyin-2016-mazda-miatas-ls3-swapped-nd.html
The shop took a crate LS3 6.2-litre V8 engine, paired it to a Tremec T56 Magnum six-speed gearbox and then found a way to cram it into the MX-5.

As for the final numbers, Flyin’ Miata says that their car is now making 525hp and 489 lb-ft of torque, with the car tipping the scales at around 2600lbs (1179kg) fully wet. They also claim that the weight balance shifts from 52-48 front-rear to 53-47, thus not affecting the car’s dynamic character.

Flyin’ Miata asks for $50,000 plus the donor car, which might sound a bit too much but judging by the work involved and the fact that Flyin’ Miata can deliver you a ready-to-drive, turnkey example, sounds like a nice deal for the right person.
