The mid-drive electric bicycle kit is the end product of many years of research, testing and design innovation. For anyone wanting to add electric assist conversion to their bike, the mid drive systems are the best choice.
Easy Installation and Variety of Motors
With the Bafang 8FUN BBS-02 mid drive system you never have to unplug the hub motor to remove a wheel and you can easily change the mid drive from any size bike to any other size bike with little effort.
The BBS-02 also has the widest range of power offerings in their mid drive systems. They make available a 250, 350, 500 and 750 watt systems in 36 and 48 volt power ranges.
Pedal Electric or Throttle
The controller, which is built into the mid drive uses the latest sine wave technology for a smooth, quiet and efficient ride. From the console you have 3 levels of assist as standard to choose from but can be re-programed by the user with up to 9 levels of assist + “0″ zero level for no assist. Another feature found in the BBS-02 is a double clutch design that allows a rider to use the pedal assist, in what ever assist level they choose, or engage the thumb throttle for up to 50% more assistance for climbing those hills. The rider can use the thumb throttle for power assist only if they desire without the pedals turning.
A feature long overdue and one intended for the American rider.
Saftey-tip
Every rider has experience a chain coming off the sprockets from time to time. It's normally no big deal, just stop and put it back on.
However, with any ebike that is using “Pedal Assist”, you need to change your habits. “Turn OFF” the power to the motor before attempting to re-install the chain. Why? Because any movement of the chain ring can alert the controller that you are pedaling and it could turn on the motor and become a potential hazard.
