Maserati Designers Tell the Story of the Alfieri Study, Plus Bonus Ghibli 'Ring Clip

Unveiled at this year’s Geneva Auto Show, the Maserati Alfieri study represents a vision of a 2+2 coupe that also serves as a present for the brand’s 100th birthday. While many enthusiasts hope the Alfieri will be produced as is, Fiat Chrysler’s global design boss Lorenzo Ramaciotti sees is more as a declaration of intent.
He says the styling language of the Alfieri represents the designers’ goals for Maserati in the future, and that doesn’t mean we’ll see it on the road. However, Marco Tencone, Maserati Design Center director, says the car can be manufactured while preserving a fairly high percentage of similarity.
Both designers, as well as Giovanni Ribotta, chief designer for the exterior of the Alfieri, talk about the study’s design process in an official video from Maserati.
