Nissan Juke-R Part V: Fitting the GT-R's Gearbox and AWD Drivetrain

In the fifth installment of the Nissan Juke-R video series, the Japanese automaker gives us an insight into the problems that arose while trying to fit the GT-R's gearbox and all-wheel drive system into the small crossover.
The most significant challenge had to do with the Juke-R's wheelbase that is 250mm shorter than the GT-R's.
Nissan says that the engineers behind the Juke-R project handled this issue by installing shorter prop shafts, while also making several other necessary changes to keep the GT-R's rigidity and handling.
The GT-R-powered Juke-R is expected to make its world premiere at the Tokyo Motor Show at the end of November, though we wouldn't be surprised if Nissan showed the project earlier at the LA Auto Show.

VIDEO 4 - THE ENGINE. At the heart of Juke-R will be the GT-R's V6 turbo-charged engine that produces an incredible 480bhp. Fitting this into the space usually taken by Juke's 1.6-litre engine is a big challenge for the team. Not only do they have to build the car around the engine but also find space to house all the cooling systems that it needs to perform.
VIDEO 5 - GEARBOX AND DRIVETRAIN - One of the biggest differences between the GT-R and Juke is the wheelbase, with Juke's being 250mm shorter than GT-R's. This means that the engineers behind the Juke-R project had to install shorter prop shafts, while making sure that the car kept the GT-R's superb handling.
VIDEO 6 - SEAT FITTING AND ERGONOMICS - The driver is the most important part of any car and this fact is true within Juke-R. GT-R's 3.8-litre V6 engine has an impact on the interior of the car and it's vital that the driver is positioned where they can reach all of the controls and gain good visibility. This doesn't just mean the steering wheel and pedals - Juke-R's dashboard switches have had to be moved closer to the driver so they can be reached easily.
