when I went to the school
I found that
my students had left
a lot of snacks and sweets
on my desk.
They had
the graduation ceremony
on the 16th of March,
and I didn't attend the ceremony.
So some of my students
wanted to thank me,
but I was not there.
They decided to
leave a message
and their present for me
on my desk.
The thing is,
when I teach
my extra-curricular class,
I usually give them
snacks and chocolate.
Why?
I would say
you can imagine
how hungry they are
after studying 6 formal lessons
including physical education class.
They are imposing great hardship
on themselves.
For the extracurricular class
takes about 3 and a half hours.
I am myself tired,
but my students must
be exhausted.
So in order to boost
their power to study
and memorize things more,
I usually give them
something sweet.
The effect is obvious.
Usually not even a single student
falls asleep during the class.
I would say that
sometimes they purely
enjoy learning more
and making progress
in their studies
for entrance exams.
At such times I'm full of respect
for my students.
The snack and chocolate gift
my ex-students gave me
is supposed to
be handed to the next set
of exam applicants.
Most of them will take
the exam for Tokyo University.
Could be a long way to go
for most of the students.
Sometimes they have to shed
not only sweat but tears,
a lot of tears for their annoyance
at slow progress.
(The actual amount of snack gift was
about 6 times of this!!)
So, thank you for the gift of snacks, I love you all!
