ファミ魂

It was the time when I was in London, being under a certain friend's roof.

あれは、私がとあるロンドンの友人宅にお邪魔している時であった。

While we were walking around his house and enjoying fresh air of early morning,

ある朝、早起きをして、友人と散歩をしている途中

Our conversation turned to the "education" of each country.

お互いの国の教育に話が及んだ。

"So that, you mean..." he questioned me in some fright.

「それは、つまり…」彼は驚いて私に尋ねた。

"Many of You do not have any religions?"

「日本人の多くは宗教を持たないという事かい？」

As I replied in the negative, he pondered for a moment, and said.

私が頷くと、彼は少し考え込んで、さらにこう切り出した。

"In that case, how do you impart moral education to your children?"

「それじゃあ、一体、道徳教育をどうやって行っていると言うんだい？」

I could not provide adequate answer to his question immediately,

私は彼の問いかけに不意を突かれ、すぐに答える事が出来なかった。

However, I knew what had inculcated ethic ideas into me.

しかし、誰が私に徳という感情を植え付けたのか、私には分かっていた。

It was , without any questions, NE-Spirit.

疑いの余地はない。それは「ファミ魂」であった。
