warm winter running socks
Very comfortable and warm running socks for winter - I ran outdoors in sleet and snow throughout winter 2020-2021 and these were my go-to socks on crappy days.

Perfect for Spartan races
Bought these for my daughter to wear for her Spartan Beast because she needed socks that were crew height. After 14 miles of mud, ice water and pure abuse they held up amazingly and had no blisters. Awesome product.

Review for treadmill walkers
My review describes my experience wearing these for my treadmill walking routine, not strictly running. I walk at 3.8 MPH on a treadmill at a 6 degree incline for 35 minutes, Monday through Friday. I also throw in 2 minutes of running half way through. The first few days wearing these socks, I had a lot of discomfort from, apparently, muscles being used in my lower legs and feet that did not normally get used. By the 5th time I used them, my legs and feet adjusted, but I still am not going to keep using them. The reason is the raised surface inside the sock under the balls of my feet. I can feel it and it just doesn't feel right. It interferes with the natural roll of my foot. I'm switching back to "flatter" socks. What I think it feels like is adding an extra 1/2 to 3/4 of a degree of incline. When I did the running portion of my routine, I believe they felt better, but I still prefer regular socks. As far as the quality of this product, it is very good. The materials seem high quality and the construction is well done. They feel warm. The compression is apparent but not tight. I generally do not like compression products, but these feel comfortable. Inside, there are cushioned, raised sections under the ball and heel. The top part includes a textured section, but I am not sure what its for. Maybe they work better only when running, I'll let other reviews comment on that.

Great for walking
These are better than the other walking socks I own because the material is thinner, so my feet fit more comfortably in the shoes. Whenever I get socks specifically for walking, my one hope is that the ridge or seam of the part covering the toes isn't too thick, because it it is, it rubs on my curled toes and makes it super uncomfortable or can ever give me blisters. These were okay in that regard, but not seamless. As far as the wicking goes, I didn't notice that much of a difference in the sweat level of my feet while in the socks compared to other pairs -- it was possibly slightly less? The extra durability on the heel was a great idea. The elastic around the ankle is too tight, and I'm under 120lbs, so I'd imagine it's much tighter for people with thicker ankles than mine. I did notice they kept my feet warmer in the cold weather, thanks to that bit of wool in the mix. The socks fit snugly, stayed in place, and didn't work their way down into the shoe. All in all, they feel like a high-quality pair of walking or running socks, and I'd choose them over others I have, were I to order them again.

Great qualtiy but the fit is a bit large for me (size 13 shoe size wearing a size L sock)
This is a review of the Zensah Grit Running Mini Crew Socks - Merino Wool, Moisture Wicking, No Blisters - Athletic Socks for Men and Women. Let me get my gripe in right off the bat... the Merino Wool content of these socks is 22% so I kind of think calling these "Merino Wool" socks is somewhat misleading. By far the largest percentage of fiber in this sock is 40% Polypropylene followed by 26% Nylon/ then 22% Fine Merino Wool and finally 12% Spandex. Certainly there is a fairly significant amount of Wool in the socks, but still, I think to call them Wool socks is a little off. In any case, these are very nicely made socks. They fit me, a size 13 foot, a bit on the large side but not so large that they are unwearable. They are close fitting and seem to wick moisture well. They also stay up with no sagging. These socks do have a right and a left so you have to pay attention when putting them on. Fortunately there is an R and L stitched into the forefoot of the sock. Great quality.

Snug socks made from a stretchy but not scratchy wool blend
The  Zensah Running Wool Crew Socks  feature a stretchy but not scratchy wool blend that hugs your feet and offers a bit of cushioning. Stretchiness is important; I found that the size L socks, which are supposed to fit sizes 10-12.5m take some effort to pull over my wide size 11 feet. Once on, however, they're perfectly comfortable. Since I frequently have problems with socks with high wool or acrylic contents (I mostly go with high cotton content blends), I was pleasantly surprised to find I could wear these all day without itchiness. The quality of the fabric and the sock construction is good. Note that the gray and white details visible on the top, toe, and ankle in photos of the socks are fun, but these are not structural details. Overall, these socks are of good quality, a little bit smaller than expected, and a bit on the pricey side. Given the price, I will not be replacing my collection of white cotton crews with Zensah black crews, but it's nice to have these socks in my drawer.

5 star socks
I bought these for my husband and he really likes them. in his words - The Zensah Running Wool Crew Socks - Large are very comfortable after an initial adjustment period of a few minutes. They are NOT wool socks, but a wool blend made of Polypropylene (43%), nylon (25%), merino wool (19%) and spandex (13%). It features arch compression which is why it takes some getting used to. It squeezes your feet slightly which is mildly uncomfortable to begin with but settles down after a few minutes once the fabric stretches and moves along your feet. The heel, toes and ball of feet have padded cushion. I really LOVE this aspect. My size is about US 9 for dress shoes and these pair of socks are extremely satisfactory. The quality of the fabric blend and the actual construction of the socks is very good indeed. They also wash easy and I air dry them just so they don't loose shape. 5 stars! Plus my recommendations.

Comfortable and fit the foot perfectly, but the cuff is too tight.
My wife has been wearing these, and here is what she thinks. She wears a shoe size 6.5. The material is very comfortable and soft, and stretches to hug her foot well. The material around the toes and ball of the foot is a little thicker for cushioning, the arch is a litle thinner, and the heel stretches to fit snugly. She says they're so comfortable sometimes it doesn't feel like she's wearing socks. Her one complaint is with the cuff (the top ot the tube)--it's too tight. The rest of the sock is comfortable and fits perfectly, but the cuff is tighter than expected and is uncomfortable. Otherwise these would be perfect. Maybe the cuff will loosten up a little with further wear.

Comfortable Socks Keeps Your Feet Dry
True confessions: I don't run. But I walk a lot at times. Sometimes 90 minutes a day. And my feet get sweaty in my walking sneakers. So socks with wicking qualities keep me feet cooler and dryer. These socks are very comfortable. The heel feature feels great on. It's 50 something degrees in the Northeast now - kind of cool and damp. These socks warm my feet a bit which is welcome. Not sure how they'd be on a hot day, but on a cool day keeping warm and dry is appreciated. I wear them around the house when I'm moving around, cooking, cleaning etc. They are snug around the top rim. Not too snug I don't think. I want to give them more time to make sure. But they are tighter than most other socks up there that I own. My feet are size 8 women and the size small fits perfectly in the foot part. I'd be interested in trying the medium and seeing the difference. But I like how the foot fits. So far, I like these socks. Will report back as I wear them more if there's a change.

Seamless! Perfect Fit. Designed To Prevent Blisters.
One of these days I'm going on a very long walk -- hopefully "The Camino" in Spain -- and when I do, these socks are coming with me! I didn't see any washing instructions. I washed them in warm water and dried them in a dryer until just damp, then air dried them the rest of the way. I didn't think they'd fit me anymore when I saw them. But -- if they post the photo -- you can see that they fit me perfectly AFTER wash/dry. I bought Zensah wool socks for my husband some months ago and have washed and dried them many times. They've held up. (Anything with 12% Spandex WILL shrink. Count on it. Wool will usually shrink -- it depends on how it's been processed.) These socks have a good amount of stretchability, though, so they still fit. These are comfortable! I love the fit! Love the materials, design and construction! I like the padding in the toe and heel. For long walks, it's important to keep feet dry to prevent blisters -- supposedly these will do the job.

High Performance Socks
I really rather enjoy the performance characteristics of these socks. Upon careful examination you can see the different design elements within the sock that add up to real performance. These support my feet well. The size Medium fit great for my 10.5 shoe size. The heal, arch and toe areas are all very comfortable. You can feel the extra support in the stretch of the materials. I find them to be warming slightly. They don't make my feet sweat, but they do keep them warmer than my usual socks. This is plus for this winter weather. On warmer days they are still comfortable because of the wool. They don't make my feet itch either. I really can't tell the wool is in there by feel but certainly by performance. I would recommend these and they would make a great gift too for yourself or a friend.

Nice But Pricey Sport Socks
Because these socks are made from wool (22%), they run on the high side. For that reason, I wouldn't consider them "everyday" socks, but would use them only as they're intended: sport. That way, they'll last longer. But although it's made from wool (22%), it doesn't feel like the traditional wool you might think of. It's not thick or scratchy. It's a thinner, softer material. My stepson wears a 9 men's shoe, so the medium size fits his feet perfectly. As others have mentioned, the socks fit snug around your feet; it hugs more around the middle than regular socks. So if your feet are a bit wider or chunkier, you'd probably need the next size up. He likes to wear these socks running; they feel "squishier" than regular socks and surprisingly don't get wet like the rest of his clothing while jogging.

Ankle band TOO tight
Oh, how I wish these socks fit me! The foot feels great. I love the heel cup. I’m a knitter and this is the kind of heel that I usually knit. I’ve NEVER seen it in a ready-made sock. Unfortunately, the band at the top of the sock is much MUCH too tight. I’m not overweight, but I’m not pencil thin. Only a person with VERY skinny legs would feel comfortable with these socks on. Sadly, I’ll never wear them and I only know one person who might be able to, a woman with size 8 feet and for whom a size zero pant is too big.

Not a sock I would wear regularly.
My husband doesn't really like these socks. They are too tight around the ankle to be comfortable for any length of time. He walks when playing golf and said there is no way he would wear these for 4 hours. Since they are labeled as "Running Socks", maybe they are designed more for support and not to be worn for long periods of time. They are well made, cushy in the heel and stylish. They are marked "L" and "R" and they have a little extra material on the seam at the toe that bunches up. Not much but enough to notice. For those that like a tight fitting sock that add some support, the Zensah Running Wool Crew socks me work for you.

Kept my feet warm
I wear a size 6.5 women's shoe, so according to the size chart, I should be solidly in a size small. It did fit fairly well through the foot, but at the cuff it was definitely tight. I used these for walking, not running, and I really do love them for that. I just can't keep them on for the rest of the day, as I end up with marks on my ankles. You can definitely feel the compression aspect, but I didn't find that uncomfortable at all. My feet stayed pretty warm (in cold weather) with these, in spite of the fact that they are pretty thin. I think if I got a pair of medium size I would be happier.

Very supportive on the foot but too tight on the calves for me
These feel really nice on my feet but apparently my lower calves are too big. They do not feel comfortable and leave a mark. But I gave them to my husband who has very skinny legs and they fit him fine. He usually wears Bombas and loves them. They are true Merino Wool socks with just a little other added for stretch and support. We will see how he likes the Zensah long term and I will update this. They are very supportive in the places that count. I wish they came a little wider. The price is high so I would hope that they came in different width.

cushioned but tightly fitting
These are a mix of fabrics, even though the title says wool crew socks. The sock is thicker at the arch and heel. I find this makes a nice padding. The socks are tight across the foot and ankle. The top stitching is really nice wo the sock stays up, and no annoying toe stitching to irritate the foot, it really is seamless. My feet do sweat when working out and I found that this sock did wick away moisture, my foot felt dryer compared to regular socks. While these are running socks I used them for bouncing on my trampoline and for doing a dance workout and they worked out well for both. Nice socks to add to a workout outfit

Pay close attention to the sizing options
Let's just say that this would have been a 5-star product for me if I'd payed closer attention to the size chart. I have size 10 feet (men) but ended up with size Medium socks. I thought/hoped that since my size is close to the size 9.5 upper size range of medium socks that they'd work out. I didn't have any problem getting them on, but the down side is that by the time I was done with a one-hour work-out session and I took my shoes off my feet were tingling because the compression from the socks was too tight. I like the construction and mid-calf length, but medium is just too small for me feet. I passed them along to my wife, women's size 8.5 and they work just fine for her.

Snug, compression socks works
These socks provide good compression around the arches without being too tight. There's some extra padding around the toe and heel area. The cuffs feel a little tight but do stay in place and don't sag down. The initial fit may feel tight but it does stretch out to a comfortable snug fit. No shifting or rubbing during my run. I was afraid 'wool' would fee too hot or scratchy for workout, but these breathes well. My feet also stayed dry in them during a jog, and didn't get too hot.

Good competition for my SmartWools
Great socks--it's awesome to see other brands move into the SmartWool territory, as I love 'em but their quality has waned in the past 10 years. These fit well and are sufficiently padded for running and hiking, but are also plain enough to be worn with work clothes. Price is reasonable but not a steal compared to similar socks, but you shouldn't be disappointed. Be advised, this specific model is listed as "crew" but is a full-sized (i.e. not short) sock.

Above ankle, lower calf area very tight - but other parts is perfect!
I have small feet and small ankles - though admittedly my feet are wide. These fit perfectly up to the ankle but are quite snug above it. It doesn't hurt or bother while on, but when I take them off the indentations don't go away for a while. I should emphasize I am a petite female, not overweight - and don't have abnormally fleshy ankles and lower calves or anything - I'm a runner so my legs are muscular. I love the way they keep my feet warm and the cushion is exactly in the right place. Because of the ankle issue I prefer the ankle length versions of this sock.

They Work!
I recently began taking daily walks and was excited to try these socks. My feet tend to get super sweaty, so the moisture-wicking technology was a big draw. And I am happy to report that they work great! Of course, I only have one pair so I can't wear them every day, but I can definitely tell a difference when I do. My feet feel a lot less sweaty and gross when I wear these. I'm definitely planning to add a few more pair to my sock drawer in the near future.

Comfortable, warm and nice-looking (a bit tighter than expected)
These are very warm and comfortable socks. They also just look nice. I don't typically think of wool as running sock material but I'm impressed with these. The only issue I found is that they fit a little smaller than expected. I wear a size 11.5 and the L feels a little tight - almost like they're meant to be compression socks. But that is a small issue for a sport sock - it definitely means that there won't be any slipping or sliding and no blisters.

A wool blend giving great wicking ability and snug fit all in a pair of socks. Running and cycling gives me a good cardio and my feet are prone to the discomforts associated with sweat and ultimately blisters. None of that experienced with these socks. What makes for a good winter running sock? Comfort - these are very soft and fit my size 7 feet perfectly Warmth - have kept my feet warm in mid-thirties degree weather (that's as cold as we've had it here) Height - I hate socks that slide into my shoe, these are the perfect height above my ankle I've worn these socks to run every time I've had the chance between washings.
