Readers aware of Nike’s 2003 purchase of Nike might look at these and feel both intrigue and a sense of “Why didn’t they already do this?” Nike has launched its own successful skateboarding lineup, but they’re still largely in the shadow of Nike SB. The Nike SB Blazer High pictured above would smash through all barriers if it were ever released. Sporting a black canvas upper and an old school Nike Air Max All Star-like heel tag, this Blazer gets us thinking about all the possibilities implied in mashing together the legacies of perhaps the two most significant footwear companies in history. These are samples and Mental Kicks won’t even sell ‘em, so enjoy the photos and let us know if you see some Dwyane Wade potential here.

Nike isn’t necessarily known for having packs or a series of specific designed shoes, unless, that is, it’s initiated by a certain collaboration or cause. These kicks, however, are one of those exceptions. Although variant in graphics/patterns and colorways, what ties all these together is the use of jersey material for the uppers. Hence the “Sweat.” None of them scream for attention, but there’s something tasty about the subtly with the smart use of color accenting certain parts of the shoe. Consider these a nice little alternative to your typical homogenous collection of everyday rockers. via JD Sports.

It might be versatile enough for seemingly infinite design possibilities, but the Air Max All Star isn’t Nike’s only old school basketball sneaker. It’s certainly the most popular, but recent Jack Purcell releases have pulled it to a nice second place in the company’s heirarchy. Upcoming for spring ’10 is a collection that adds to this dynamic duo with the above air max 2012 men shoes pictured Fast Break II. Several colourways of that, Jacks and Chucks with slimmer, low-profile soles are pictured after the jump. via HB
