go の変化・come の変化
■レッスンのポイント■
come と go は方向は違えど移動を表す動詞です。それが状態の移行（変化）を表すのは不思議ではありませんね。
Today's Dialogue
（ダイアログは、Haruka と Hiroki のお付き合いが破局した回でした）
Haruka: Hiroki, I know you've been cheating on me. It's time we said goodbye forever.
Hiroki: Wait, Haruka. Don't rush things. I'll change! I'll behave better from now on!
Haruka: Don't try to fix it, Hiroki. Our love's gone sour.
Hiroki: But what are you going to do?
Haruka: I'll start a new life. Don't worry about me.
Hiroki: And what am I going to do alone?
Haruka: You just bought a new condominium, right? Everything will come good for both of us.
Key Sentence
Our love's gone sour.
➫説明型オーバーラッピングの形
➫基本は be 動詞文と同様に「our love = sour」だが、変化の go が使われているため「our love = sour〔になる〕」となっている
➫ go は「元の・本来の・あるべき状態」から離れる動き
➫ come はそうした場所に近づく動きを表す
➫ざっくり go は「悪い変化」、come は「よい変化」と考えてもいい
Practice
❶ go には「あるべき状態」「元の状態」から逸脱していく変化が感じられる
go wrong（まずいことになる）
go bad（悪くなる・腐る）
go mad（気がおかしくなる）
go berserk（暴れ出す・キレる）
go gray（白髪になる）
go bald（はげる）
go rotten（腐る）

➫「望んだ・あるべき状態」に近づく動きを come が表す

❹「しっかりしろ！」「どうした！」は英語で？

➫ come が「あるべき元の状態」を表すことがわかれば、こうした相手を鼓舞する表現に come が使われる理由もわかる
