⇒対象物に向かう単純な位置関係

☞どこを見据えて話しているのかを示す
 

➤範囲（期間）

for：ある状況が「どれくらい続くのか」に焦点
during：「その期間内に出来事が起こること」に焦点

➤for以降の範囲にフォーカス
You're younger for your age.
short for a basketball player
small for a T. rex

for all I know（ひょっとすると）

☞「細かなことにとらわれて全体を見通せない」… the trees が原因となっている

●for の一風変わった使い方：～にもかかわらず
For all his effort, he didn't succeed.
☞for と all で強いフォーカスを当てながら、真逆の結果を述べて、逆説の意味合いが生じている
