基本動詞の総復習■番外編 take a taxi と get a taxi ニュアンスの違い

の違いを復習しますね！

大西先生は常々 get の基本イメージとして、「動き」のニュアンスがあると話されています。

一方、take の基本イメージは「手に取る」。目の前にあるものを意識的・能動的に「取る」。（2022年5月号p12より）

ということを踏まえて、以下２つのフレーズの違いです。

■I'll take a taxi.
➤「タクシーにしますよ」
➤タクシーを「選び取る」感触
➤「動き」はない
（目の前にあるものを体を動かさずに手に取るイメージ）

■I'll get a taxi.
➤その場にいないタクシーを「捕まえてくる」
➤「動き」のニュアンスが感じられる

ちなみに、今ではすっかり英語学習の友である ChatGPTさんに尋ねてみたことろ、次のような回答を得ました。
