In 1918 SBI Enterprises invented the pogo stick;in 2000 they reinvented the pogo stick with the advent of the patented Flybar technology. フライバーができるまでの歴史のおさらいである。
ポゴスティックという鉄のコイルスプリングをベースにした商品を米国でパテントとして出願し製品化したのが１９１８年のことである。あれから８２年後の２０００年にゴムチューブの収縮性を利用して誕生したのがフライバーである。ポゴスティックとトランポリンの融合である。
従来のポゴスティックは跳ぶ高さにどうしても限界があった。しかし、ゴムチューブ（スラスター）の集合体をその跳躍のベースにしているフライバーはその跳躍力を飛躍的に向上させることができた。と同時にバウンドする時の衝撃を吸収することができるようになった。
そしてフライバーは数々の賞を受賞している。
