昨日のリスニング問題の解答です。
先日ご紹介したAdobe TVに比べると、聞き取るのがだいぶ難しかったと思います。
1:00からの会話は、こんな感じでした。
Basquiat: Hey, Benny, man, how long you think it takes to get famous?
Benny: For a musician? Or a painter?
Basquiat: Whatever, famous.
Benny: Four years. Six to get rich. First you’re gonna have
to dress right, you know? Then you’re gonna have to hang out with famous people. You know? Make friends with the right blond people.
Go to the right parties, yeah. Socialite.
Then you gotta do your work all the time when you’re not doing that. But l’m talking about the same kind of work, the same style so people can recognize it and don’t get confused, you know?
Then once you’re famous...airborne, you know, you gotta keep doing it in the same way...even after it’s boring unless you want people to really get mad at you, which they will anyway. Come on, man, let’s go. Shoot! Come on. l mean, famous people are usually pretty fucking stupid. You’re too smart.
「socialite」は「社交会の有名人（socially prominent person）」。
社交パーティーやメディアにはよく出ているけれど、特に仕事はしていない「資産家のお嬢さん（婦人）」のような、少し侮蔑的なニュアンスもある言葉です。
「airborne」は形容詞で「空気に乗って運ばれる／軌道に乗る」という意味です。
バスキアは有名になりたいと思っていますが、友人のベニーはそれに対して否定的ですね。
