Late March: A spring tour of Kyoto's sake breweries.

I was looking for sake lees.

I managed to snag the last kilo of the season.

The sake breweries in Fushimi

where I used to walk with my father.

That's where I first learned about his favorite brewery.

I remember how happy he looked as he talked about sake.

I went to a restaurant next to the brewery

in search of sake lees.

I had lunch with a sake tasting set,

and by the time I left, I was feeling quite tipsy.

Before I knew it, I was walking with my stamp rally sheet in hand,

trying to sober up.

Although it's a tourist spot,

it wasn't as crowded as downtown Kyoto,

and the weather was nice,

so I strolled along enjoying the spring sunshine.

I visited Choken-ji Temple,

a place I've been to a few times before.

I went to receive some energy from Benzaiten, the goddess of the arts.

After a pleasant stroll, I made my way to Shijo,

picked up some spring postcards and

my favorite insect-repellent incense at Wakui,

 then headed to Sanjo.

The city center was packed.

I stopped by Shinshindo

and Shizuya for my usual purchases.

I turned a blind eye to the 4-Tox product just for today 🫩

and bought it as a souvenir.

I was happiest about getting 1 kilo of sake lees 😃

I walked 7.5 kilometers that day 🚶🚶‍♀️🚶‍♀️
