Yesterday i spent the day in Hahndorf before i headed back home to Sydney, and again the site picked my up and we drove to Adelaide Hills town of Hahndorf... it also happens that the Tour Down Under cycling race was on here....
many Germans had settled in this town when they had migrated to Australia
which is why most of the architecture has european resemblance
inside the store... salami etc
antique chair in front of the pub
we sat outside...german grill.... gosh is was humongous, it was a mix grill with sauerkraut, potato salad, a pork chop, and german wurst aka sausages
there were so many candy stores.... huge freckle
and huge lollypop.... you're tounge would bleed if you had to lick it all up in a day!
random things below.... wishing well
head stone... isn't it bad luck to have one of these outside your store
who's grave did they take this off?
from an old cannon during the war
there was an outback store here amongst the German stores
they sold all these leather goods.... from animal use to human wears
there was even a farm shed display inside
the main street
probably a display for the tour down under bike race
cute trimmed pine trees along the street
back at Adelaide airport... very quiet compared to weekdays
Adelaide CBD in the backround....
