Tomorrow i'm back in the office, though it's not going to be the same again.

Today when i was off site, i was asked to call into a Tcon. I was wondering what is so urgent that i had to give up some of my time on site for this. Time on site is precious....

We were told that more about 20 people were made redundant and they were told yesterday after a 1-1 meeting to pack up their bags and to go home. This is so bad.... and what is worst is many of them i became good friends.

I always look forward going back to the office after travelling as we can catch up, have a few laughs, go out to lunch.. now... its all gone...

These people make the office vibrant and it always fun to be able to work in the same company together although our roles are totally different.

Sometimes we get to be on the same project and it good that we can work together to sort out the issues.

I wouldn't be surprised if the atmosphere has changed like they said, so the call was to warn us of the drastic change before we rocked up at the office.

I'm sad about this and also disgusted that the company can just let go of people without warning them for at least a week or 2 minimum. People many have families, bills and rent to pay.... now they are out of a job, just like that!

It's not nice that this happened before x'mas.... i hope they find something before hand... not sure what the market is like so i wish them the best....

I wondered what they will do to our department... but our manager re-assured us that we are in safe hands and not to worry our line of work can't be replaced.

Well i don't like the way they say good bye to you when they don't need you at all. Can't believe it that a huge global company can do this without warning. It would be much more acceptable if you let them know in advance, rather than telling them on the day that we don't need you anymore.

Where is the ethics in that?!

I guess i'm still lucky that i still have a job. What i do feel is that i'd would probably need to other tasks which i don't usually do, so this would mean work harder. I'm already starting to feel overloaded.... i really don't want to work on the weekends as well.... its not fair!

If this happened to me, i think i'll go and find a job somewhere in asia and teach english.... it would be a good break and change.
