僕は多くの外国人に、和食を通して、もっと日本の日常のことについて
知ってもらいたいという思いで、レッスンをしています。
ですので、プロの技術を使って本格的な和食を作りたい、という要望がない限りは、
料理初心者でも、気楽にできる料理を教えています。
前回のレッスンに参加していただいたお客様のうち1人は、
自国でも料理はほとんどしていなくて、
レッスンについていけるか心配していましたので、
できるだけリラックスできるように会話を多くするよう心がけました。
ほとんど料理とは関係ない会話でしたが（笑）
といっても、僕はまだ英語を話すのが難しいし、
お客様も日本語を話すのが難しいので、
言いたいことの3割程度しか会話になっていませんでしたが、
それでも気持ちはしっかり伝わりました。
正しい言葉でスムーズに会話ができれば良いのですが、
コミュニケーションで一番大切なのは、
気持ちを伝え合うことなんだと、改めて実感しました。
お客様は、僕が寿司を巻くところをよく見ていて、
完成した太巻き寿司は、なかなかのものでした。
正しい手順が分かれば、初心者でも上手にできるということですね。
今のところ、英語オンリーのレッスンは難しいので、
日本語が多少でも理解できる外国人を対象にレッスンをしていきます。

I want foreigners to know more about Japanese life through Japanese cuisine,
and I teach many foreigners how to cook.
So, unless you have a request to make authentic Japanese cuisine using professional techniques,
I teach dishes that are easy for even beginners to cook.
One of the customers who participated in the previous lesson had almost never cooked in her home country,
and she was worried that whether she can or can't cook.
I tried to have as much conversation as possible to make them as relaxed as possible.
It was a conversation almost irrelevant to the cooking haha.
However, I still have difficulty speaking English, and customers are also difficult to speak Japanese,
so I was only talking about 30% of what I wanted to say, but still my feelings were well communicated Was.
It would be nice if I could have a smooth conversation with the right words,
I realized again that the most important thing in communication is to communicate feelings.
The customer was watching carefully how I made the sushi, and the finished sushi roll was beautiful.
If everyone knows the right procedure, even beginners can do well.
At the moment, English-only lessons are difficult,
Lessons will be given to foreigners who can understand a little Japanese.
