Every X (Twitter) profile has an "about this account" panel if you know where to look for it. Most of the time it's blank, or it just repeats the join date. Occasionally, though, it shows a country or region the account has been active from.
That single detail turns out to be more useful than it looks. If you're trying to work out whether an account claiming to be a local news outlet is actually posting from the country it claims to cover, or whether a suspiciously helpful "support" account is run out of somewhere unrelated to the company it's impersonating, that's one real data point in a sea of things that are easy to fake — a bio, a profile photo, a display name.
It's not reliable on its own. Plenty of legitimate accounts don't expose it, and travel or a VPN can shift what's shown. Treat it as one input, not a verdict.
Where to actually see it
On X itself, it's tucked into a menu most people never open.
