CHAPTER 1 "Challenge"
a fairly tall man with white hair reached his shoulder stood knocked on a big, mahogany door and waited for an answer. He fixed his eyes, a pair of slant-red eyes, onto the handle, as if observing the twisting decorative design of it. A faint ‘come in’ reached his ears, and he opened the door casually, found another man in white clothes sat in his chair with boring face.
“Kou,” the man addressed his guest, “any idea of what to do? I wanna fight!”
The man called Kou just smiled faintly and shook his head in disagreement. He and this man, Giou, had been a good friend for (almost a year) now. And seeing him like this wasn’t a new thing to him.
“Instead of fighting, why don’t you just find a wife?” Kou suggested gently.
“what?!” Giou glared at his friend, surprised and confused. He didn’t expect that kind of answer. Well, he had never expected that kind of answer,
“why?” Giou asked again, still lost, “Is it important?”
“For a challenge?” Kou leaned on his friend desk and tapped his finger on the glossy surface of the wooden table, “It’s a challenge.”
“Challenge? Fine, I’ll accept it, and I’ll win, as usual.” Giou smirked. His eyes filled with confidence as Kou chuckled lightly.
“Oh, I don’t think you will this time,” Kou made a sign to his subordinates, who waited near the door, “I bet you’ll lose.”
“No way!” Giou sneered.
“Bring that girl, unharmed,” Kou said with stern voice to his two subordinates, “and bring her weapon with you too. Don’t kill her. If you do, the price would be you neck.”
“B―but sir, that girl is…”
Kou raised his brow, “are you scared?” he asked.
"N... Noo sir"
"then, go now...!!! What are you waiting for?"
the next morning,
The two young men, accompanied with four of their subordinates strode along a brightly lit corridor in silence. They stopped in front of a heavily ornamented door, an entrance to a room called ‘Pride’, as suggested by the ornaments carved on the door. When they got in, there was a girl being held by two men, obviously Kou’s subordinates. She was kicking around, struggling to get free.
“Get off, Don’t touch me, you pervert!”
Giou sat on his chair, but Kou went near the girl and see her carefully, he realized something and said to the subordinates with cold eyes "Did I say that she must go here unharmed? Explain.”
One of them explained that her injury wasn’t their fault. The girl’s guard were trying to protect her, but they missed their target and hit the girl instead.
"Ok... I'll accept your explanation but I don't know about Giou. Giou, what's your opinion?" ask Kou to Giou, for Kou he can accept that explanation and forgive them because that was an accident but He know exactly that Giou’s way of thinking is different from him.
Much to Kou’s expectation, the subordinates, who held the girl, get the injured in the same place with that girl. Giou smirked as he sheathed his weapon and said, "He can forgive you but don't think I could do the same about this one. You didn't notice the order, that's for sure. Now get out from here! "
"next time please be careful! You can leave now, thank you" Kou said nicely.
"Giou, this is Manna, Manna, this is Giou.” Kou introduced nicely, “while my name is Kou. From now you'll live in here as his wife. Don’t worry he's a good man." Kou smiled innocently.
"what do you mean by wife?” The girl asked back, surprised by the young man statement, “I don't want to be his wife and I’ve never asked him as well.”
Kou didn't answer her question, he just smiled and make sure that she couldn’t escape. Then he ask to Giou ‘s opinion of her. Giou said that maybe he can accept that girl for a while if she didn't do something make her looked bad in his eyes.
After that, Giou stood up and took a crystal ball from the girl. He just smirked when the girl said angrily to him,
“Give it back! It’s mine!”
“Until you become a good girl, this,” Giou played with the ball in his hand, “will be mine.”
Manna gritted her teeth, but she couldn’t do anything, since she knew she wouldn’t win against this guy. Giou called a house maid and asked her to take Manna to her room.
“Kou, you stay. I wanna talk with you.”
Manna went out of the room followed by the maid. She was still sulking, but it can’t be helped. Who wants to be suddenly kidnapped and announced wife to someone totally stranger to her?
“so, you want to discuss about Manna,?” Kou chuckled
Giou blushed and turned to Kou, “Of course not!”
Kou smiled because what he saw Giou’s red face, as he had never seen that face before. “so, what do you want to talk?”
