MRI scan at National Cancer Center and Tsukiji Market

My first MRI scan and eye examination at the National Cancer Center in six months. My eye tumor(腫瘍) is hardly a matter of death. However, I believe that many patients visiting the cancer center become anxious(不安). Many are accompanied(付き添い) by family members. Even so, medical science has advanced since the past, and surviva(生存率)l rates have increased dramatically. Patients now face their illnesses with a more positive attitude. The waiting room is much more relaxed than when my mother was admitted and operated on at this hospital some 40 years ago.        There is little(ほとんどない) fear(心配) that eye tumors will metastasize(転移する), but when cancer does metastasize, for some reason, it is often to the liver. because eye tumors are rare cancers, they are also the subject(対象) of research(研究), and MRI scans are performed regularly. This time, there was no cancer in the liver and surrounding area.

Tsukiji Outside Market is located in front of the National Cancer Center. I stop by to shop on my way home from the cancer center. It has been five years since the Tsukiji market moved to Toyosu, and it has become a bit lonely. Recently, under the corona infection, there were hardly(ほとんど) any(いない) tourists.

I was surprised when I went there in February this year. It was full of tourists. The weather was nice. There were tourists from Europe, America, and Asia walking around with their tour guides. Even though it was not yet noon, some restaurants had lines of people waiting in line. Perhaps due to the weak(円安) yen,          the number of tourists from overseas seems to be    increasing(増加). I hope Tsukiji will continue to be busy in the future. 2023.02.02
