今週、この映画の話題になった。
1991年の映画。今見てもいい映画だと思う。
この映画は、先日ＵｐしたＨｏｒｓｅｓｈｏｅ が出ていることもあるが、その生い立ちや、内容もいい。
あのタンティーノが無名時代に作った脚本であり、長年温めて自分が映像化したかったようであるが、資金面より実現せず、脚本を売りにだしたそうである。しかし、それが起源となり、今の活躍があるようです。彼にとっては、まさにアメリカンドリームのきっかけを作った物語です。
そして、エルビス。冒頭のシーンでは、主人公がエルビスに対する熱い思いを、女の子に語るが受け入れられず、平凡な誕生日の夜から物語が始まる。。。
そして、このセリフへとつながるわけです。。。アラバマのこのセリフが何とも言えません。運命の出会いはきっとあるんでしょうね。
"I had to come all the way from the highway and byways of Tallahassee,
Florida to MotorCity, Detroit to find my true love.
If you gave me a million years to ponder,
I would never have guessed that true romance and Detroit would ever go together.
And til this day, the events that followed all still seems like a distant dream.
But the dream was real and was to change our lives forever.
I kept asking Clarence why our world seemed to be collapsing and
things seemed to be getting so shitty. And he'd say,
