*Architecture is the MATERIALIZATION of concepts
----Forms of Knowledge vs Knowledge of Forms
----Nothing to do with Forms
----Forms / Constraints(a limitation/restriction)
*Redefine the Meaning
----Not buildings but Content
----Do not imitate the building next to it but Context
Process
*Brings up the possibilities can be done within the zoning and building code
Concept(generic) vs Context (specific)
ex: Flank Owen Gehry ---- site oriented??
ex: Sergei Mikhailovich Eisenstein (film director/film theorist)
a pioneer in the use of montage, a specific use of film editing
Film: explain the significance of montage in detail
Collision of shots: used to manipulate the emotions of the audience
create film metaphors
(note)his Kanji study influenced pictorial development
Methods of Montage
*Metric
*Rhythmic
*tonal
*Over tonal
*Intellectual
Beginning Projects
*Sensitive (what would be taken)
*Basic - make it better
*Context: can be added the meaning of the area
(add programs/ take programs out)
OLD AND NEW
the constraints in between old and new
can be added the meaning of space??
*Wall / Activation (ex:museum)
(wall: sculpture/artworks / wall....)
define the space
leads the motion(accelerate or slower the speed)
-SAME CONCEPT AND CONSTRAINTS/in DIFFERENT CONTEXT
*change the perception
*totally different building
ex: steel construction in out of nowhere redefine the area and perspective toward
vs
wood construction in a forest
