１月３日
Today the rehearsal for my part was cancelled and I vegged out at home. I was going to practice my lines(English), but after starting PC, I visited a lot of web sites for fun in spite of myself... in the afternoon I got a call from my husband. He got raised in his salary, 12%, and wanted to let me know. He seems to be chosen one of seven people who got raised today. I am really proud of him.
今日は稽古がなくなり、家でだらだらしてしまいました。台詞（英語）の練習をしようと思っていたのに、ＰＣにたちあげると、ついつい、ネットサーフィンして遊んでしまったのでした・・。昼間に旦那さんから電話があり、給料が１２％も上がったとのこと、とても嬉しそう。会社で７人のうちの一人に選ばれたそう。すごいなあ～。
１月２日
I went to see a sea and have a lunch at a seafood restaurant with my husband, Ken, today. The sea is not clean,but the atmosphere of the area is kind a summer resort like Hawaii(tooooooo far, though) and we enjoyed it. The sea food restaurant is Ken's former teacher' s favorite one. We ordered some raw oysters as an appetizer.(they were great!) I ordered a red snapper and he did soft shell crabs. The dishes were good, but I prefer to eat at house rather than eat out in America. Now my favorite dish is a fermented saybeans- rice!
After lunch, we took a walk on the beach. It was so hot today that I saw some people swiming.
Ken will resume his work and I will restart a rehearsal for a show tomorrow.
今日は旦那さん,ケン, と一緒に海を見に行き、シーフードレストランでランチをしました。海は決して綺麗とはいえないけれど、雰囲気は悪くなくて、気持ちよかったです。そのレストランはケンの恩師のお気に入りの店です。前菜に生がきを頼み（これは、おいしかった！！）私は真鯛を、彼はソフトシェルクラブを注文しました。アメリカでは、私は外食より家で作って食べるほうが好きです。ちなみに、今の私の一番の好物は納豆ご飯です。ランチの後、浜辺を散歩しましたが、今日はとても暑くて、泳いでいる人もみかけました。
明日から旦那さんはお仕事、私は芝居の稽古が再開します。
元旦
今日は、ここアメリカでは元旦です。今年私は、毎日、英語で日記を書くことに決めました！私は今、アメリカの大学で演劇を専攻しているのですが、どうしても英語がうまくなりたいし、ならなくてはいけないのです。英語で毎日日記をつけるのは英語の上達に役立つと思います。それに英語があまりできないのに無謀にもアメリカで演劇を（勉強）しているという外国人として、いろいろなおもしろ経験をしている今、日記をつけるということ自体、意味のあることだと思います。
Today is New year's day here in the United States. This year I decided to keep a diary in English every day, because I really want to (and have to)improve my English. I believe keeping an English diary will be helpful. Also, I think for me to keep a diary, in itself, is meanigful, because now I am having interesting experiences (in many ways) as a foreigner who can't speak English so well but is acting(studing) in English in America.
