Here is a chance I was waiting for.
Long time no see.
I am still working on George Eliot for my dissertation,
but things have changed dramatically
since last time I updated this blog.
Actually, I was looking for an opportunity to be
a full time worker in my university.
At the end of April, then, my advisor recommended me to have
a job interview.
I gladly accepted it and I am now preparing for the interview.
The problem is that I will be interviewed in English.
Since I came back from UK 8 years ago,
I have been working very hard on keeping my English speaking ability.
I sometimes join English speaking community to brush up my English.
And now, I decided to go to prep-school.
Recently, it is getting harder and harder to
be a full time worker in university.
The university generally requires at least
three academic essays and general English skill, especially, speaking skill.
We researchers tend to focus on just reading English novels
and writing academic essays and
tend to foget brushing up our English speaking skill.
As a professional English teacher, we must not ignore
the importance of speaking English
because English is all we are working on as a life-long job.
I find it very difficult to speak English
though it is not so difficult to speak English in daily situaton.
I want to be both a professional Englsih teacher
and a professional researcher.
I am still working hard to reach that goal.
The interview I will have this month or next month is
the first chance to go closer to it.
I will never miss the chance.
