1)　形容詞や副詞を修飾する例　a)形容詞やb)副詞の前で「程度」を示す。

a) I'm two years younger than Helen.　（私はヘレンより2つ年下です）

b) He got up an hour early this morning.　（けさは1時間早く起きました）

2)　動詞を修飾する例 a)時間, b)距離, c)量目・程度, d)方法

a) We stayed (for) three weeks.　（3週間滞在しました）

b) They walked (for) three miles.　（3マイル歩いた）

c) This stone weighs twenty pounds.　（目方が20ポンドある）

d) Do it your own way if you don't like my way.

（私のやり方が気に入らないのなら、自分の好きなようにしなさい）
