砂に自分の名前を書く
波がそれを消すたびに
もっと深く書きなおす
でもまた消されるだけ



終わりがない砂浜を歩く
水が足をつつみながら
私がここにいた証拠
私の存在を消しながら



真っ赤な夕日が沈み
昨日の希望であった今日が
明日の思い出になる
誰が昨日の望みを思い出すのだろう？
もう明日の夢ばかり



家に向かおう
この旅はまだ終わってはいない
やっと明日になると
あなたの思いのなかで
一生消えずに休めるの？

Dinner with Friends

今日は、友達と食事をしにいきました。　ミシガン湖が窓から見える小さなレストラン。

久しぶりにメキシカン料理。　ここのお店のサルサはとっても美味しい～！

もちろん大好きな赤ワインも。　オーストラリアのワインでした。

やっぱり、食べ物って誰かと一緒に食べた方がもっと美味しくなりますね！

美味しい食べ物と美味しい会話。　パーフェクトなコンビ。：）

友達の中には、とてもやさしくて、かっこいい男性が何人かいます。　でも、なかなかラブにはラッキーではありません。　なぜ？？？

私にはとても信じられない！　

いつか幸せになれるのを祈るしかないのでしょうか？

帰りのドライブは、坂本龍一さんの音楽を聞きながら色々考えた。

Today, I went out to dinner with some friends. It was a small restaurant where you can see Lake Michigan from the windows.

We ate Mexican food. The salsa at this place is SO good!

Of course, also had some of the red wine that I love. Tonight I chose an Australian red.

Food always tastes SO much better when you eat with other people!!!

Great food, great conversation....a perfect match!!!

Some of my friends are wonderful, kind, good looking single guys. But they've all been unlucky at love....WHY???

I just don't understand it....

Do I just pray that someday they will all find happiness?

On the drive home, I listened to music by Ryuichi Sakamoto and pondered many things....



　　　

HONEY BELL Oranges （ハニーベル オレンジ）

 

ハニーベル　オレンジってごぞんじ？　フロリダ州でしか作られてないオレンジです！しかも、とてもみじかい収穫期間…。１月から２月の中ごろぐらいまです。　

グレープフルーツとみかんの掛け合わせた物なのです。　　とってもジューシー！！！　ふつうのオレンジより果汁が倍ある！！！　

日本には輸入されているかはわかりませんが、アメリカでは、とても人気があり、ハニーベルを食べてしまうとほかのオレンジを食べたくなくなってしまう！！！　

もし、 フロリダに来る機会があれば、ぜひ食べてみてください！！！

Have you heard of Honey Bell oranges? They are only grown in Florida and have a very short harvesting period. They are harvested from January to the middle of February.

They are a hybrid of the grapefruit and tangerine. They have twice the juice of a regular orange!!! The oranges are SOOOO JUICY!!!

I don't know if they are imported in Japan, but they are very popular among the Americans. Once you eat a Honey Bell, other oranges just don't taste as good anymore!!!

If you have a chance to visit Florida, please try these amazing oranges!!!

スペシャル バースデイ

今日はひさしぶりに晴れ。。。。ここは、冬の間あんまり晴れる日はないんです。　早く春になってほしいな。。。。 明日は娘の誕生日。四歳になります。とてもかわいくて、おもしろくて、やさしい子です。しかし、実は、とても大変な心臓の病気を抱えているのです。まだ小さいのに、もう三回手術をしました。 最後の手術は先月でした。クリスマスの日はシカゴの病院で過ごしました。まだいろいろなチャレンジはあるけれども、前向きに生きるしかないですよね。　 バースデー・パーティのメニューは、お寿司とカレー。。。。　 ケーキは、大好きなバービイ人形のかたちのケーキです！ 人生には、たくさ～ん辛い事があるけれど、いい事もたくさんある。 では、これからプレゼントのラッピングをするので、今日はこれぐらいで。。。。 Winters here are pretty dark and gloomy. Today, however, the sun was out and it was much appreciated. Tomorrow is my younger daughter's birthday! She will be four years old. This birthday is very special because she was born with "Congenital Heart Disease." She has eight different heart defects and has had to have three open-heart surgeries already. Her last surgery was actually done last month, so we spent Christmas at the hospital. Although there are still challenges ahead, we are staying positive and continue to look forward.... She is a very happy, funny, loving little girl....She asked me to make sushi and curry for her birthday dinner. For her cake, we ordered a cake to look like her favorite "Barbie".... Have to go wrap some presents now.... It's important to remember the good things in life....:)

アメリカから第一弾！ 2006年01月17日(火)

今年になってやっとブログを書いてみようと思いました。　



私は大阪生まれの日系アメリカ人です。でも六歳半の時にアメリカ人の家族にもらわれ、

札幌に移りました。高校までは日本にいましたが、大学でアメリカに来ました。

This year, I finally decided to try this "blog" thing....:)



I'm a Japanese American, raised in Japan. Born in Osaka, and at the age

of six and a half, was adopted by an American family living in Japan at

the time. I moved to Sapporo, in Hokkaido. Then, for college, I came to

the USA....



My hobbies....next time :).
