I'm reading one of Haruki Murakami's latest books. It's not a novel, it's about his life, being a novelist, a writer, and a runner. He's been running (almost) everyday for the past 30 years. He runs marathons, triathlons etc. He was sharing how he relates his running style to his writing style and it's really intriguing. I hope this comes out in English soon, because you get an insight of him, not through his characters, but directly from him. There's this part where he interviews an Olympic runner and asks him if he has any days where he doesn't feel like running. The runner replies 'of course! all the time!' and that comforted him. knowing that even people of that level have unmotivated days. I don't know why but this put me at ease too. I think somewhere in my head, I had this conception that those people who are highly skilled or talented at something, never felt laziness towards what they do. But knowing we're all human, is somewhat of a relief to me ;) i LOVE his books.
