(3月29日エルモの5回目の誕生日だったわ。）
First birthday away from Japan and away from papachan.
(日本を離れて、パパちゃんと離れて初めての誕生日)
We took a long walk on the seaside which is still covered with ice.
(まだまだ凍結している海の近くをいっぱい散歩をしたの。）
We watched kids playing hockey in the street and then we went to Elmo's favorite shop and bought all his favorite snacks.
(ストリートホッケーをしているキッズを見たりして、その後エルモのお気に入りの店に行ってエルモのお気に入りのおやつをいっぱい買ったわ。）
Elmo put on his new clothes which papachan sent from Japan.
(パパちゃんが送ってくれた服をエルモに着させてみたわ。）
We received another box full of presents both for me and Elmo, and we are always happy to have a small piece of Japan, a distant scent of Japan in our small house.
(パパちゃんが私たちのためにまた箱詰を送ってくれたわ。
日本での思い出、日本の匂いが部屋を満たしてくれてすごくハッピーな気分になるの。）
We both left our hearts in "tengoku Kara ichiban chikai shimade". K itsumo arigatone ne.
(二人とも「天国から一番近い島日本」がすごく懐かしい気持ち。Ｋいつもありがとうね。）
Elmo Sama too, thank you very much for being with us all those 5 years.
(エルモもね。一緒に過ごしたこの5年間本当にありがとうね。）
Those were years full of happiness, you brought a lot of joy to our lives.
(ずぅーっとハッピーだわ、私たちの人生をもっと充実したものにしてくれたわ。)
It is blessing and honor to have you. Please stay with us long and continue to be our sunshine. I love you.

Elmo is asking me how big is my love. My darling boy, it is as big as distance between Japan and Canada.
(エルモが聞いてくるの、「ママの愛ってどれくらい大きいの？」って、だから答えるの、日本とカナダの距離くらい大きいものなのよ」って。）
※まだまだシャーロットタウンは真冬みたいです。
エルモが生まれた埼玉は今、さくらで満開です。
