➡：別に。あ、このあいだアリソンに会ったんだ。
Emily：Really? Where?

Thelma：At the café, of course.
➡：カフェでに決まってんじゃん。
Emily：I haven’t seen her in ages. How is she?
➡：もう長いこと会ってないな。元気そうだった？
Thelma：Fine, I think. She mostly talked about other people.
➡：元気なんじゃないかな。ほとんど人の噂話をしてたから。
Emily：Alison does love to gossip.
➡：アリソンってゴシップが大好きだからね。
Thelma：Yeah.

Oh, I saw Alison the other day.：あ、このあいだアリソンに会ったんだ。
the other day は「先日、この間」という意味で、最近起こった出来事を伝えるときに使うことができます。

📝【②：「つい最近 ～ したばかりだ」と言いたいときの just the other day】
I went there just the other day!：つい最近そこに行ったばかりだよ！
the other day に just がくっつくと「ついこの間／最近／先日」という意味になります。その事が起きてからまだ日が浅い、そんなに経っていないような時に使えるフレーズです。just を付けることで「ホントついこの間だよ」のように起きた出来事を強調する言い方になります。

in those days：その当時は
Bell bottoms were in fashion in those days.：当時はベルボトムが流行っていた。
in my day：私が若かったころは
In my day platform boots were in fashion.：私が若かったころは、厚底ブーツが流行っていた。
