英会話 -English - Smacky Glam!

smacky

Hahaha... This one is funny. I was doing a little stroll in Shibuya, and I saw this:

"Smacky Glam"

Glam comes from "glamorous." "Glamorous" means very high in style, romantic, or exciting. "Glam" then is a slang word meaning "too glamorous," flashy or crazy style.

Smack bascially means to hit someone with an open hand, like the word "slap." Ouch!! I am happy they made "smack" into an adjective with "smacky," BUT you can't use it this way with "glam!"

What a painful sounding store! Smacky Glam!
