Stand Up

学生たちのほとんどは神が存在するはずがないと納得させられていました。

確かに、多くのクリスチャンは通り抜けていました。

しかし、20年間、彼らはとても怖くて立ち上がれなかったのです。

そう、数年前のことでしたが、たまたまこのクラスに登録している一人の新入生がいました。彼はクリスチャンで、この教授についての話を聞いていました。


Most of the students were convinced that God couldn't exist.

Certainly, a number of Christians had slipped through, but for 20 years, they had been too afraid to stand up.

Well, a few years ago, there was a freshman, who happened to be enrolled in the class.

He was a Christian, and had heard the stories about this professor.


彼は自分の専攻のために必要とされる授業の１つだったのでこのクラスを受けなければなりませんでしたが、怖がっていました。

しかし、その学期の3ヶ月間、彼は教授がどんなことを言おうとも、クラスの者がどう思おうとも、立ち上がる勇気を持てるように毎朝お祈りしました。

彼らが何を言っても自分の信仰が壊されないように願っていました。


He had to take the class because it was one of the required classes for his major and he was afraid.

But for 3 months that semester, he prayed every morning that he would have the courage to stand up no matter what the professor said or what the class thought.

Nothing they said could ever shatter his faith, he hoped.
