Today, I'll write about the seasonal menu of Eggs 'n Things, "THANKSGIVING DAY". Also, one of the locations is doing its anniversary pancakes, so I'll mention it too. NEW I updated this blog post a few times as always, and I've mentioned other cafes and eateries too. I've added a lot of new photos, so please check them out.

アメリカ You know, in the United States, thanksgiving day is on November 23 this year, while it falls on October 8 in Canada this year. カナダ

日本 As I mentioned sometimes, here in Japan, a lot of Japanese people celebrate Christmas though many of them are not Christians, and Halloween is becoming more and more popular here nowadays. I'd say Easter is not so famous, but I saw some shops and restaurants in Japan offering Easter goods or menus for Easter this year.うさぎ On the other hand, thanksgiving day is not famous at all in Japan.

You know what? In Japan, as soon as Halloween is over, or even before Halloween, many shops start to sell Christmas goods. Say Tully's Coffee in Japan, it started "Happy Holidays Customise your Holiday Season" on November 2 this year for Christmas.

Hot Mascarpone Tiramisu Latte (Tall Size).

Left photo; Mug Caps (Red & Deep Blue). They are released this month and are very useful. Right photo; Hot Irish Late (Short). I had this seasonal beverage last winter and in winter two years ago too. It seems Irish latte is offered every winter for almost 9 years in a row. It's amazing, isn't it?

I have other Christmas goods of Tully's Coffee, such as teddies, tumblers and mugs. I do like their snow globes too, but this year Tully's Coffee has not released snow globes for Christmas. Instead, they've added mug caps this year. I wonder why. Snow globes are fragile? They are beautiful.

Let it snow, let it snow.雪

I got these tumblers a few years ago. I really like them.トナカイ

I got these Christmas items at Tully's Coffee more than a few years ago. These mugs are my favorite ones too.ショートケーキ

Also, Krespy Kreme Doughnuts in Japan started "Holly Joly Holiday" on November 15 for Christmas this year. Their cute and tasty Christmas doughnuts will be available till December 25. I'll write about it sometime. They are really good. Though Krespy Kreme Doughnuts has shut down a lot of locations in Japan so far, but they should be proud of their seasonal doughnuts. I hear these are original items created by Krespy Kreme Doughnuts in Japan. I'm not sure though. I hope they will open new locaions so that more people can get and enjoy their doughnuts. I think I'll check their seasonal doughnuts from now on. ドーナツピンクドーナツ

I've tried two of them, "Happy Banana Tree" and "Strawberry Cheese Santa."クリスマスツリーサンタ Both tasted great, but I prefer Christmas tree one, because I think it's so cute and colorful, and its light green color and a star tree-topper are to my taste.星 I can't wait to taste the other two. トナカイ

The same is true of a lot of other shops, restaurants, and cafes.

So funny.

Kuro collaborates with 3 COINS' Christmas item and Krespy Kreme's Christmas "Happy Banana Tree".クリスマスツリーI've got several Christmas items including this for Kuro, at 3 COINS. 3 COINS shops sell most of their items at 300 yen. 100 yen is multiplied by 3 equals 300 yen, and 100 yen is a coin, so we pay exactly 3 coins plus tax for each item, haha. That's why its name is 3 COINS, I think.

"Happy Banana Tree" of Krispy Kreme and "Ornament Relief Mug" of Tully's Coffee. The mug is so cute, right? I love this.クリスマスツリーコーヒー

The founder of Tully's Coffee doesn't seem to like this trend, actually. He spent a lot of years abroad, especially in America. While he was the president of Tully's Coffee, he thought it was too early to start Christmas beverages early in November though many other cafes and restaurants including competitors start to offer its Christmas menu after Halloween ends so that they can sell lots of items, so maybe Tully's Coffee at that time didin't start Christmas beverages as soon as Halloween ended. コーヒー

I know how he feels ... but ... grow up.グリーンハート

Oh, by the way, my darling's birthday is on December 3.クラッカーバースデーケーキ He'll become 49 years old, but he looks younger. I love him forever and ever. So, please don't worry my hon. Besides, I'm not interested in men my age and younger guys at all. They are like children or younger brothers to me (sorry guys, but I never fall in love with you. It never happens). I know many handsome guys and some of them loved me, but I've never fallen in love with them. I wanna grow old with you, so you have to live much longer. You're the best.グリーンハーツ And you're my destiny.指輪

Well, today's title .. I quote lyrics of a famous song "Lovin' You" by Minnie Riperton. It has been covered by various artists, you know. I really like this song. I always listen to the song thinking of him.音譜

コーヒー Though I usually go to Tully's Coffee shops to take a rest, I like Pronto's pastas and misdo's hot cafe au lait too. Many of misdo shops in Japan have refills on hot coffee, hot royal milk tea (a word coined in Japan) and hot cafe au lait.コーヒー You know what? Mister Donut in Japan have just started Misdo Gohan, which means Misdo's Morning Set.

Misdo Gohan (Tuna Melt & Hot Cafe Latte) and Pon De Ring (strictly speaking Pon De Kokutou).

Misdo Gohan is a moring set available till 11 a.m. every day and has 3 types; A, B and C. It depends on which item you choose as the main one. 1 set consists of 1 food and 1 drink, just in case. For example, the right photo above is C set (360 yen tax included), and we choose a donut, a pie or toast whose price is no less than 200 yen but no more than 270 yen. Also, we choose from among hot and iced drinks shown in the menu. It's a little complicated, I guess. If you wanna add another item like I did in the photos (I added Pon De Ring Kokutou), you need to pay for it in addition to the price of a set. Pon De Ring has several kinds, and Kokutou, 黒糖, means brown sugar. I don't know Pon De Ring is available at mister Donut shops in the U.S., but it's a popular donut of mister Donut in Japan. It's chewy. I like Pon De Ring.

Pronto's Shrimp & Avocado Basil Sauce Pasta. Pronto offers a lot of pastas and seasonal ones as well.パスタTully's Coffee also serves pastas, and I wanna try their seasonal ragout sauce one.ナイフとフォーク

As I wrote before when I said "Happy Birthday" to Tully's Coffee, I lived in a girls' dormitory located in Akasaka when I was a university student, and I used to go to a lot of cafes there such as Tully's Coffee, Excelsior Cafe, Doutor Coffee, Starbucks Cofee, and Zokka Coffee.コーヒー Also, I worked part-time at a law office in Kasumigaseki while I was in university (I majored in law), and the building the law office is in has Starbucks Coffee, so I used to come by it before part-time job.

These are Starbucks' tumblers that I bought while I was a university student, except for the kyoto one. Kyoto's is a souvenir and I got it when I was 22 or 23 years old, so I'm not sure it's still available. I have 6 tumblers of Starbucks and that's all. Also, I had a Kanazawa-limited mug when I was in university and I liked it, but I broke it later. I haven't bought its tumblers since then, and I don't use these tumblers anymore either, but I haven't thrown away and I won't. The one at the right end (with a biggest mermaid on it), that's what I got when I was a sophomore and stayed with a host family in Seattle, America, for almost a month. I posted photos of Seattle in the blog post I've just mentioned.

The law office that I've mentioned, well ... I have to tell its senior partner that I gave up becoming a lawyer in Japan ... yes, in Japan ... I think I have to move on to the next stage of my life. I don't think I can find my calling unless I move on, so I have to. The lawyer advised me to go to Ito juku, whose headmaster wears a yellow tie, and I wanted to, but I didn't and couldn't. I respect them very much while I hate some lawyers. People who passed one of the hardest exams are not always smart, you know. Oh, Ito juku is a cram school in Japan for legal examinations like the Japanese bar exam, and it's very famous among people in the legal industry. It's not too much to say that university students in Japan who are or were majoring in law have used study-aid books written by Ito juku at least once.鉛筆

Well, I have to say "I'm sorry" for not studying Japanese laws very hard anymore. Since I'm not an attorney, I'm so sorry I can't help people by becoming a lawyer. But I'm very glad that the civil law was revised and will be put into force at last. It was an old law and had to change after all. For those who are interested in Japanese laws and politics (is there anyone?), I'll write about it some other time. I'll help people in my own way by changing Japan, and this world, and I'm serious.グッド!

That reminds me I also used to visit Hibiya Library and Hibiya park before I do a part-time job at the law office in Kasumigaseki, but Hibiya Library didn't have a Pronto cafe in it in those days.本 コーヒー Pronto is on the 1st floor (grand floor in British English) and on the 1st basement floor as well.

There are lots of locations of Pronto all over Japan, I guess, but only this Pronto has pork cutlet items.

Pork-cutlet sandwiches at Pronto.

Go back to the original topic, haha, Eggs 'n Things is serving thanksgiving items right now. And I've tried only 1 of them ...

I had "Marshmallow Sweet Potato".

It looks very delicious, and I was really looking forward to having this, but...

... I have to admit that I don't like it ... it was too sweet for me though I have a sweet tooth. I asked several Ohana "Don't you think it's very sweet?" and all of them said "yes," and some even said that they always tell customers who try to order this dish that this is very sweet. One of Ohana, staff members of Eggs 'n Things, recommended Kona Coffee with Marshmallow Sweet Potato, and she was right. Kona Cofee goes well with sweet items as well as pancakes.コーヒー

I've never tried thanksgiving dishes like marshmallow sweet potatoes in America though I've been to America and had a lot of sweets (I mean candy) there, so I'm not sure American people feel the same way. Maybe some of you will like this. If you are in Japan and like marshmallow sweet potatoes, pease try it at Eggs 'n Things in Japan. Their thanksgiving menu will be offered until November 23 this week.

I'll update this blog post again. Also, I'll check my spelling and grammar mistakes.  And I did update again and have checked. If I find other ones again, I'll correct them ASAP. Sorry again, but I've been busy lately. I enjoy writing English blog posts, so I'll continue this English blog. Besides, I don't want to break my word. I decided to update the English blog at least once a week when I started this, so I'll keep my word. I hope some enjoy reading my blog though my English is not perfect at all. I'll improve my English as well. I promise.

One of the seasonal beverages of Eggs 'n Things, Marshmallow Mocha (Hot Only). I like this mashmallow drink while I don't like mashmallow sweet potato, haha.

Eggs 'n Things Chiba location is serving "Pear and Tapioca Milk Tea Pancakes" to celebrate its 2nd anniversary. They will also be available till November 23 this week.

They were good. I like tapioca and I've had a lot of tapioca drinks in my life, but I've never tried tapioca pancakes.

After having tapioca pancakes, I stopped by Tully's Coffee to get Christmas goods and one of Christmas beverages that I mentioned earlier.

Now Chiba and Lalaport Expocity Osaka locations are offering 2nd anniversary pancakes till Nov. 23, and after that Sendai, Lazona Kawasaki, and Tachikawa Tachihi locaions will be offering store-limited pancakes until December 25 to celebrate each anniversary.クラッカー How can they come up with a great number of pancakes? In addition to anniversary pancakes of each location itself like these, they offer special pancakes to celebrate the anniversary of Eggs 'n Things in Japan, I mean Eggs was born in America in1974, but its 1st location in Japan opened on March 10, 2010. They do seasonal menus every year on top of that. All the locations will be offering "Aloha Christmas" menu from November 24 to December 25. I can't wait. ホットケーキナイフとフォーク
