さて本日はおすすめボーディングスクールの紹介です。
Christchurch Schoolというバージニア州にある学校です。
クライストチャーチ高校は1921年にバージ
ニア州の聖公会教区より設立され
校舎はラッパハノック川の近くの125エー
カーもの広大なキャンパス内に位置してお
り寮生、全日制の学生合わせて約220名の
学生が在籍しています。
また学習プログラムでは勉強だけに重点を
置かず適切なスポーツをすることで学問的
に成功ができるよう文武両道を掲げていま
す。
質の高い教育を受けることができ卒業生の
100％が大学に進学しております。高校卒

今日はこの学校のVisual and Performing Artsプログラムの紹介です。
このプログラムでは老人ホームに訪れてアルツハイマー型認知症の方へ音楽を届け
音楽がどんな力があるのか知ることができます。
また下記のようなプログラムがあります。
- The Nature of Music - a survey course that explores music as a social and cultural element. Students explore their own musical heritage, the connection of music to river cultures around the world, music and the brain and music as a way of knowing.
- Special Topics in Music: A series of courses that explore diverse musical topics:
- Music in the Rock Era - An historical review of the development of the rock genre from 1930 - the present
- Musical Explorations - A survey course of musical history and styles
- Music in World Cultures - A study in the comparison and contrast of the music of Asia, Latin America, India and the Middle East
- Cantorion - The school’s vocal performing ensemble. This group performs four concerts annually. Repertoire includes classical, sacred, spirituals, folksong, international works
- Instrumental Performance - This class provides students with skills on an instrument opportunity to gain skill and practice in performance.
