3rd of April 2021 marks Kamen Rider's 50th anniversary.
All this while, I have been wanting to talk about my Kamen Rider experience to the point that I even want to do a vlog and even forgot that I have a blog. I'm writing now as part of my celebration for the series' amazing 50 years --it may be late for a blogpost but like I've mentioned, I forgot the existence of my blog. 😅
"encounter"
My first encounter with Kamen Rider was when I was in second year high school. I was watching a Korean sitcom drama back then so I just happen to watch a few episodes of it whenever I turned on the tv a little early than scheduled.
I'm not new to the tokusatsu series because when I was a kid (around 4-6 years old) )), I watched Ultraman and Power Rangers.
All this while, I thought that what I have watched for a few times was Kabuto because when I saw the suit, it looked familiar in a way. But as I dig the depths of the internet for traces of my first series encounter, it turned out to be Blade and not Kabuto.
After my first encounter back then, I actually didn't watched any tokusatsu series AT ALL. I'm not really fond of watching tokusatsu series even though I've watched Ultraman & Power Rangers when I was As an adult, I prefer not watching these kinds of shows because I thought that it's for kids (I better say it clearly). But after I've watched it, I'M GLAD I DID!
Since it's a series outside of my comfort zone, I was hesitant in watching it. Months ago when started watching an episode, it felt like I don't even want to finish it. (╥_╥) But when I've reached the middle part of the Kamen Rider series, that's when you feel the excitement for the whole thing. I felt the excitement watching the series that I'm watching. ≧ ∇ ≦ This is the thing I must have been looking for ... the excitement or so I thought.
To be honest, I only started watching Kamen Rider series because of my new favorite actor. I had tracked down his dramas and since he's still a newbie, I thought that I can still take a ride on his early days (as an actor). After I had watched the dramas he had appeared last year, I traced down his debut drama AND THAT IS THE START. If I didn't became a fan of him, I wouldn't take the challenge of stepping into an unfamiliar world. think if not for him, I wouldn't really start watching any Kamen Rider series at all. I'm greatful! 🙇🙇
At first, I always hesitated of watching any Kamen Rider series because it's an unfamiliar world out there and also not to mention the number of episodes looks stressful ... But you know, when you're already there, it's in fact exciting.' ve got to learn new things and also, Rider Wiki became my dictionary / bible in the process. Rider Wiki helped me a lot in so many ways !!
So far, I have been lurking in the Rider fandom for about 5 months now. ✨ ✨
I never expected that I'll venture into this world but never the less, I'm happy! ヾ (≧ ▽ ≦ *) o I can't thank him enough for if I didn't saw him on youtube and watch his latest drama, I wouldn't take that step towards this world. I have been mentioning this A LOT, I know.
