So the guy next to me is using an Android phone by an Indonesian CDMA provider. Smartfren. And I'm using an iPhone 4S. Both our phones are white.
I'm using my iPhone to write this post and listen music and he's like "Ew poser look I've got the same phone."
Seriously. It almost looked the same. But of course my iPhone looks more kewl ;)
I was at dorm, drawing some doodle for Chani and a random guy appeared. I think he rent a dorm next to my room but I've never seen him before.
He asked "Do you have a phone charger?" And I answered "Sure but I think it's not compartible with your phone..." I saw him holding a Blackberry. He looked at my iPhone which was laying on my bed. "Samsung right? I think it's compartible..."
I said "No, it's an iPhone." He looked confused so I showed him my charger.
Yes, iPhone is not that popular in Indonesia.
To be honest I hate iPhone-wannabe. Local brand and Samsung. Well I know it indicates how populariphone is and other brands were like "Let's make similar phone."
But they're not iOS. Most of them are running in Android and the other are even not a smartphone.
Don't get me wrong. I used to be an Android user. I love Android. I love how you can hack into the system and modify it as you like. But there are too many Android phones with various specs. I like it too. More phone more choice.
What I don't like about Android is laggy. Unstable. Yeah yeah I know a loyal fanboy be like "TRY THE FLAGSHIP PHONE FIRST AND SHUT YOUR FUCKING MOUTH." Shut your own fucking mouth, baby boy. I'm saying the truth. No matter how many cores your cellphone's having, it always lagging. Idc about specs crazy like Samsung.
Hey Samsung even faked their products benchmark wtf. They always doubled their processor each year but none of them are as efficient as iPhone's dual core. They also add more battery capacity on their Galaxy series but none of them have better battery life as iPhone. I think it is not about the phone, it's about the Android. I can say it is not a final product and always have significant bugs.
If Android is a final product, people should be satisfied with what they got out of box right? But no. In reality Android users always add mods on their phone to fix bugs or add feature by themself. I know you're free to do this but if you're satisfied with your Android, why would you add mods on it? ^_^
And talking about apps. Hm. Most developers choose iOS more than Android, and I think I know the reason why.
1. Android is easy to be hacked. You can export your .apk (it's like .exe on Windows) then share it. So you can use paid "hacked apps" without buy it. I swear developers hate this.
2. Various specs on Android phones. Various processor, display, GPU, and versions.
3. Apple always push people to upgrade their iOS and you can't go back to previous version (except jailbroken devices and I haven't tried this). It is good, keep their customers satisfied, and make the developers easier to make compatible apps.
4. iOS device's graphic are much better than Android. Idk why but I think it's because of the multitasking. You can't do multitasking as on Android with iOS. As soon as you push the home button, your apps got paused. I know it is annoying sometimes but it makes your processor works more efficient by not running unused apps simultanously. On Android, you can run unlimited apps. Okay it's like you're having a PC but hey back again it's a phone. Your unused apps are running on background and draining your battery.
5. iOS is made for iDevice. Yep. And that's why it is more stable. Because the iOS is special for iDevice and it made only for iDevice. Few devices means easier for developer. In the other hand Android is made for universal. It runs on various phone and tablet. Yep, flexibility. But still it makes Android unstable :/ (and mainstream lol)
