Shandong University General Information
Shandong University, located in Jinan City, Shandong Province, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. Shandong University, formerly known as Shandong University, founded in 1901, is known as the originating university of modern higher education in China. Over the past 120 years, Shandong University has always adhered to the school-running tenet of "reserving talents for the world and making the country prosperous and strong", and has cultivated more than 600,000 talents of various types, making important contributions to national and regional economic and social development. The school covers an area of more than 8,000 acres, forming a school-running pattern of one school and three locations (Jinan, Weihai, Qingdao). It is one of the universities with the most complete disciplines in China at present, and it is representative among comprehensive universities and holds a doctorate degree. There are 44 first-level disciplines authorized, 1 doctoral degree authorized second-level discipline, 51 master's degree authorized first-level disciplines, 93 undergraduate enrollment majors, and 42 post-doctoral research stations, covering all disciplines except military science. International Exchange and Cooperation of Shandong University
The School of International Education of Shandong University is a comprehensive educational institution. Its main tasks are the cultivation of international Chinese education talents, the education of foreign students, and the training of Chinese teachers at home and abroad. The preparatory department and other institutions are the affiliated colleges of the Hanban/Shandong University Chinese Traditional Culture Research and Experience Base, the Shandong University Language and Cultural Communication Research Center, and an important construction unit of the Shandong University Overseas Confucius Institute.
In recent years, the college has formed a disciplinary structure connecting undergraduate, master and doctoral degrees. At the doctoral level, there is a language and cultural communication major. At the master level, there are two majors: Chinese as a foreign language and a master's degree in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. At the undergraduate level, there is a major in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. Among them, the doctoral program of "Language and Cultural Communication" is the earliest established in China and is committed to building a comprehensive interdisciplinary platform. It is a "985" key discipline construction project of the Ministry of Education; the master's degree program in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages was awarded in the evaluation of the Academic Degrees Office of the State Council. Highly appraised; the educational innovation project "international and compound Chinese language education talent training system" won the special award for teaching achievements of Shandong University.
The college adheres to the goal of compound and international talent training responds to the talent training concept of Shandong University's "three crosses and four experiences", and actively builds an overseas practice platform for postgraduates. The university's "big liberal arts" students provide overseas social practice platforms and teaching practice platforms and have dispatched more than 600 students to 17 countries including France, Australia, the Netherlands, and Thailand.
The college currently has 52 full-time teachers, majoring in literature, Chinese language and philology, foreign language, education, history, economics, management and other disciplines.
