Dear Fellow Earthling,

At around 6:15 a.m. Efrem and I enjoyed a beautiful sunrise from Summit House's second floor living room. Both Mt. Hood and Mt. Jefferson could clearly be seen against the light emanating from the eastern horizon! The scenery was stunning, sending our day off to a good start!

On this, Efrem's final full day experiencing Reltonia, he performed admirably checking the traps at New Pond. He dispatched 2 bullfrogs and released several salamanders. In the afternoon we attempted to gig bullfrogs at Front Pond but had no luck.

It was fun just relaxing along New Pond's shore, enjoying the shade afforded by the trees that surround it. It was truly a wonderful summer day.

During his stay here on Reltonia Efrem has gotten lots of English practice -- I've even corrected his pronunciation from time to time. But we will wait until he returns to the San Francisco area tomorrow, where he works as a researcher, to resume his Jingles training.

In addition to amphibians, Efrem got to see some of Reltonia's deer and squirrels during his stay here. For me, it was a great experience to be with someone so committed to keeping Earth pristine and peaceful.
