東京で町を歩いていると、しばしば外国人に道を尋ねられます。
「カレー屋はどこですか？」
「浅草はどう行けばいいですか？」
「事務所は何階ですか？」
などなど。
そんなときに、とりあえず覚えておくと便利な英語が
「あっちだよ」
だと思います。大体の場合それでひとまずはどうにかなる。でもそれだけは明らかに不十分な場合も多いので
「まっすぐ行って二つ目の信号を右に」
「山手線で上野に行ってそこから銀座線だよ」
「この階のひとつ上だよ」
などとサラっと言えたらスマートですよね。俺もそんな対応が出来るようになりたいものです。

In Tokyo, we are sometimes asked the way in English.
「I'm looking for a curry shop. Do you Know where it is?」
「Ｉ'm going to the Asakusa station. Do you know where it is?」
「what floor is the office on?」
etc...
At such time, This word is very usefull 「overthere」. But if we can explain that well, it will be more better.
「Go straight and turn right at the second traffic lights.」
「Take the Yamanote line, and change at the Ueno station to the Ginza line.」
「One up.」
etc... It is so smart. I wanna be like that.
