since my ex-colleague whom i have known for about 15 years (we've known each other since we were in the us) was back to our city to pack things up, some other colleagues and we went to have some foods and drinks. the place we went looked rather regular "izakaya" but the food they served was somewhat different from the regular izakaya. i would say that they served like trend-following food. food was pretty good!!
15年ほど前から知っている（米国滞在中からの友達）元同僚が荷物をまとめるため、こっちに戻ってきたので、他の元同僚何人かと一緒に飲みに行ってきました。行った場所は、見た目は普通の「居酒屋」だったんですが、料理はちょっと変わっていました。何か今流行りのものをサーブしているような感じ。とても美味しかったです。

we ordered some other stuff but forgot to take pics. we went there at 9 o'clock and it was 1 o'clock by the time we left. anyway, i had good time, and do hope other people did too.
他にも色々オーダーしたんですが、写真を撮るのを忘れました。9時に行って、出たのは1時でした。いずれにしても、楽しいひと時でしたし、他の人達も同様だったことと思います。

ebay situation:
イーベイの状況：
i received an email from ebay, saying that the item i lost was re-listed due to the fact that the highest bidder canceled for some reason. so, they gave me the second chance but i was kinda suspicious about this: the seller and the highest bidder were a team and they intentionally raised the price. then the highest bidder cancels the bid, so that second highest bidder gets a chance to buy at his/her highest bid, which means the seller can sell at higher price than the starting price as compare to the situation where there was only one bidder. what do you think about this? or is it just my imagination?
イーベイから、昨日負けたオークションの落札者が何らかの理由によりキャンセルしたとのメールを貰いました。というわけで、僕にチャンスが巡ってきたのですが、ちょっと怪しい：出品者と落札者がグルで、意図的に値段を吊り上げたんじゃないかと。それで落札者がキャンセルすると、2番目に最高額を提示していた入札者に、入札者の最高提示額で落札するチャンスが与えられ、つまりは入札者が一人だけの状況に比べてオークション開始価格よりも高い価格で売ることができるわけなんですよね。どう思います？ それとも、単に考えすぎなんでしょうか？

i proceeded to place bid on the item and i won as it was buy-it-now. i thought about it as i wrote above but the price was still a lot cheaper than the price offered in japan.
指値状態だったので、入札と共に落札。上記のようにあれこれ考えたのですが、それでも日本国内で提示されている価格よりも随分と安かったのです。
but what i think is that those overseas people are pretty much influenced by japanese culture as you see there are so many "collabos" out there.
ですが、海外の人達は日本の文化にかなりの影響を受けているように思います。海外でも沢山の「コラボ」を目にしますからね・・・。
