Occasionally I try to write a blog in English, although it finishes briefly.(´0ノ`*)
I like T.Capote's novel titled "Breakfast At Tiffany's", better than the movie in the same name. The novel is quite different from the movie. In the novel the independent women's way of life is suggested, while the movie is a trivial love story that finishes at the happy end. The heroine in the novel seeks the freedom like a wild bird. In her card "Miss Holiday Golightly, Traveling" only is printed. Her address isn't printed there. She doesn't want to settle in. It means Restraint that is hostile to Freedom.
She doesn't seek to become Cinderella. She thinks the life depending upon others (= men) doesn't have a freedom of a wild bird. In such a life she will become someone's belonging and lose her own freedom.
For her "Tiffany" was not a diamonds as yearning of the women in the world, but the symbol of American capitalism which values the freedom of individuals. She had known the liberty of individuals didn't exist in the communism(Stalinism) society. Exactly the freedom of individuals, that is to say the primitive liberty (= wild nature), is the only diamond that liberates all human being.
Lastly I want to introduce the poem from the novel, which I like very much. By the way, this is not a part of that famous song, "Moon River."
Don't wanna sleep,
Don't wanna die,
Just wanna go a-travelin'
through the pastures of the sky
