Revolut offers three plans but I think basic plan is fine. Although paid metal cards are certainly cool. I use a free virtual card and have no particular problems.
As expected, it is quite close to the actual exchange rate, so even if the exchange is in Japanese yen or British GBP, for example, the EUR you hold will be transferred to that currency at approximately the prevailing rate and payments will be made. Very Convenient.
