As you drive through the hustle and bustle of the ancient city of Galle and along Matara Road, you'll come across Sahana Beach Restaurant, a renowned restaurant that caters to locals. My friend Sam boasts that this place is the best, and as you pass through the restaurant, the clear blue Indian Ocean unfolds before your eyes! Authentic rice and curry, accompanied by a colorful array of side dishes, is brought to the table. Sam's passionate instructions, "You only need to use the first knuckle of your finger to make this dish," he expertly mixes the curry and papadum, earnestly explaining that it's the Sri Lankan way to enjoy a meal with all five senses. Mixing exactly as Sam instructed, I fully savored the aroma of the spices, and once I'd fully grasped the Sri Lankan spirit with my fingertips, I quickly whipped out my spoon, a tool of modern Japanese culture. 🥄 We enjoyed lunch while watching the bikinis enjoying themselves on the beach in front of us. Such luxurious moments unfold on Sahana's terrace. ☝️ Sam, a Japanese man who teaches us that the spoon is indeed elegant in curry. 🇯🇵
