I woke up early this morning ... 5am. I was hungry, so I went upstairs to make myself some tea and toast. The sun was coming up and the sky was displaying delicate apricot and pink. It made me happy. The birds were awake, singing their morning song. I thought about going for a walk but decided I needed a bit more sleep, after a late night at work.
Back to work again this afternoon. My workplace looks over the ocean and there was a gathering of people looking out to sea as I arrived. An announcement over the loud speaker said, that there were whales breaching close to shore. There were whales, but I lost interest because they were so far away. I ventured upstairs to the tea room, to put my dinner in the fridge and looking out the window, a whale jumped right out of the water; I let out a big 'aahh'!!. Some others came to watch as well. It was very playful and had a little baby. I didn't see its whole body again, but it was slapping its flipper on the water to make big splashes and spraying water out of its blowhole. Such a beautiful day.
