僕が長い間、常任理事や学術賞審査委員、眼科殿堂選考委員などを務めてきたASCRSと並んで、世界最大の国際眼科学会のAAOからも講演への招待状が来た。この会ではジェネラルセッションやビデオセッションや教育コースでの貢献で、日本人では最初のアチーブメントオーナー会員となっている。コロナの影響下で参加できなかった年を除き、世界最高の学会のＡSCRS学会や世界最大の学会のAAOで、続けて講演発表し参加している。日本人の医師は国際眼科学会に参加する医師自体が少なく、日本の相対的な世界での地位がますます低下してきているのが気がかりなのです。僕への国際眼科学会からのお誘いが毎年来るのはありがたいことで、自分を鼓舞して、毎年頑張っていくところです。
