Sakura (cherry blossoms) at RIKUGI-EN GARDEN is one of the most popular spots in Tokyo.
Sakura last year (2011) is here . They are amazing during the daytime as well, however, trees were not illuminated last year, so we are really happy to see illuminated sakura here again!
I love the combination of sakura and bamboo!
Still half of cherry blossoms are in bloom, but they are already beautiful like this! They will soon be in full bloom!
Why are we so charmed by sakura even if we see them every year and many times, and never get bored???
I really don't know exactly why, but at least I can say it is because they are so beautiful!
And because we can see sakura only once a year...! If sakura are in bloom throughout the year, we probably wouldn't get this excited.
And when sakura bloom, we smell of warm spring air, which is obviously different from cold wind in winter.
I cannot describe how it is in words!
The garden is beautiful as well. It is not crowded yet and very calm and relaxing, although it is in the middle of the city!
You can have Japanese tea (maccha) and sweets at a tea house.
