Dry landscape garden is one of the typical Japanese style garden. The garden at Ryoan-ji temple became very famous especially after it was highly praised by Queen Elizabeth II in 1975.
「枯山水（かれさんすい）」は日本庭園の典型的な形のひとつです。竜安寺 の庭は、1975年にエリザベス女王訪日の際絶賛なさったことからとても有名になりました。
The garden looks very Japanese and traditional, but actually western architectual techniques such as perspective or golden section are used to make it. Also, borrowed landscape is used which is Japanese traditional technique.
この庭はいかにも日本的に見えますが、実は「遠近法（えんきんほう）」や「黄金分割（おうごんぶんかつ）」といった西洋の手法が用いられています。また、「借景（しゃっけい）」など日本の伝統的な技法も用いられています。
"Immortals" are said to be painted by the Kano school.
「群仙図」は狩野派の作品と言われています。
"Tsukubai" is a washbasin (usually made of stone) set in a Japanese garden.
