兵庫の六甲山で24日間生き延びたというニュースには二度驚かされました。
最初「焼き肉のたれで生き延びた」と報道されていましたが、事実は全く違っていたのです。
医師によると「保護された時は脈もほとんどなくて臓器が機能停止状態で体温が約２２度という極度の低体温症だった、動物の冬眠に近かったのではないか」とのこと。
会見で男性は「意識を失う前、試しに焼き肉のたれをなめたが、とても食べられたものじゃないと思った」と笑っていました。

人間が「冬眠状態」に自然になれることに、モウ信じられない気持ちです！
ところで私はこのニュースを聞いて、ロバート・A・ハインラインの「夏への扉」を思い出しました。
物語は恋人と親友に裏切られた主人公が、失意のまま猫のピートと冷凍睡眠を決意するというもので、

主人公の家にはドアが11個もあり、飼い猫のピートは冬になると決まって、夏への扉を探します。
彼はその人間用のドアの少なくともどれか一つが、「夏」に通じているという固い信念を持っているのです。
そのドアはきっと未来にも繋がっているに違いありません！
残念なことに、この本が見当たらなくてピートのように探し回りましたが見つかりません。

I was surprised at the news that a man survived for 24 days in a cold mountain. At first, a bottle of grilled meat sauce was said to have saved his life. However, the truth was completely different from the first news. He had almost no pulse, his organs had shut down and his body temperature had dropped to 22C when he was found. According to a doctor, his body temperature might have dropped dramatically after getting lost and come into hibernating. It was a great surprise that he survived by going into hibernation! I thought that human beings didn't have the hibernation function. All the more, it reminds me of a story “The door into Summer” by Robert A. Heinlein. The story is about a cold sleep and time travel. I don’t remember the story clearly but I can remember about a nice cat called Petronius Arbiter. There were eleven doors in his master’s house and he believes that one of the doors leads into Summer, so he is always looking for the door. The door must have been linked to the future. To my regret, as I've lost the book, I am running around looking for it. I have to find it by cleaning the whole house at the end of the year. Oh! I've found the motivation to clean the whole house at last.
